August is vacation month all over the world. I learned that from a Chinese song called Hong Cai Maimai. Rainbow

Sister. While learning Chinese I learned the song to teach and opera singer the words so he could sing it as an encore

after his performances. The last line of the song is Ba yue laile, yue hen liang, xiangqile mai mai eng hai haiyou. The

means august come, the moon is bright, I think about my little girl friend eng hai hai you. As August is family time, the song

is about a man spending the month of august with his family but he misses his mistress. Thus that is how I learned that

August is vacation time just like in Europe. In Spain the families usually go to the beach or the country and often the husband

stays home and works. It is a time of vacation from the man and wife. When the husband is alone while the woman and

family are on vacation it is called de Rodriguez. The men do everything that they are not supposed to do during this time. By

the time the woman returns from the beach the husband is exhausted and really finds that he misses someone to take care

of him. They are two different cultures with different customs. They are the same in that August is Vacation Time.
