August is vacation time just like in Europe. In Spain the families usually go to the beach or the country and often the husband
stays home and works. It is a time of vacation from the man and wife. When the husband is alone while the woman and
family are on vacation it is called de Rodriguez. The men do everything that they are not supposed to do during this time. By
the time the woman returns from the beach the husband is exhausted and really finds that he misses someone to take care
of him. They are two different cultures with different customs. They are the same in that August is Vacation Time.
